The cycle of pregnancy is constituted of three essential stages. Each stage is followed by different pregnancy trimesters. A normal pregnancy lasts for 40 weeks which results into the delivery of a new born infant. Once the placenta is established, it starts secreting the progesterone hormone which maintains the pregnancy. Any disturbance in its secretion may lead to premature birth or sometimes miscarriage. The detailed analysis of the pregnancy trimesters is given below:
The first pregnancy trimester is comprised of the initial fourteen weeks and this stage is given keen importance as compared to the other stages. This stage is also referred as a developmental stage for the infant in whom the major organs of the baby are formed. But the risks of this trimester are also at peak and lead to severe complications if followed by negligence. It is generally recommended by several health experts to smoking mothers to give up this habit before planning their pregnancy in order to save your infant from life taking threats. On the other hand, alcoholic mothers are also advised to give up their drinking habit which increases the risk of premature miscarriages. The expecting mothers are advised to lessen their caffeine intake and increase the regular intake of vitamins and minerals.
It is a matter of keen observation that during this trimester a pregnant mother can develop the symptoms of fatigue, stress, vomiting, morning sickness and frequent urination which can sometimes be irritating. Although a medical survey has revealed that many women do not face such complicated symptoms and remains normal throughout their pregnancy. Such women do not need to get worried about being normal and consider them very lucky. However, make sure that you go through a regular doctor checkup followed by all the necessary tests. A woman should be very careful about her health, eating habits and daily routine in the first pregnancy trimester as the entire growth of her infant is dependant upon these crucial factors.
The second pregnancy trimester has a total duration of 13 weeks. This trimester is initiated from the 15th week and lasts till 27th week of pregnancy. This stage can be much more comfortable for the mother since the regular vomiting faced in first trimester will discontinue. During this stage, the movements of the baby can be felt inside the mother womb. As every good thing comes up with few drawbacks, similarly the expecting mother also faces severe headaches and pregnancy pelvic pain due to the stiffness of the back. You will experience an enhancement in your physical appearance due to the sequence of hormonal changes. Your belly will bulge out as the continuous growth of your infant is moving at a rapid pace. You should increase the intake of calcium and iron to ensure the development of strong bones for your young one.
The final pregnancy trimester follows a time span of 13 weeks. This is called the third pregnancy trimester which begins from the 28th week of pregnancy and lasts till the 40th week when the new born baby is given a warm welcome in a new world. This stage involves extreme anticipation and often leads to insomnia which is not relieved until your due date has arrived. As the date of delivery approaches, you get enveloped with a mixed crowd of feelings which incorporates fear, joy, excitement and many more random emotions. The variations in your body will become rapid which increases the excitement of the upcoming event. The baby has passed all the growth and developmental stages and is termed as a full fledged fetus.
As a whole, this fortunate event is often termed as a gifted experience in a woman’s life that bears all the pains and undergoes all the risks to give birth to a heaven under her feet in the form of her new born baby.
